For the Romashka flower shop we built floor-standing and wall-hung shelving on a white metal frame, a sales counter and a small side table. These are flower shop fittings in a Provence spirit: white metal, pale wood-look shelves and a panelled counter. The furniture was photographed before any flowers went onto the shelves.
Along the walls of the sales room stand five-tier florist display shelving units, set in a run and round a corner. The end frames and intermediate uprights are built as trusses with diagonal crosses in every tier. The cross works as bracing and at the same time as a recognisable motif familiar from garden furniture. The shelves are solid, running the full length of a bay, with a white tube edging them. The open white frame does not compete with the bouquets and greenery that will fill the shelves. We solved a similar task, open shelving for small decor, in the DekoSvit store.
In the till recess, units of the same construction are lifted onto the wall, left and right of the sign, and follow the corner of the room. The floor of the tight recess stays clear, and the wall behind the counter is given over to rails. The client picked out the recess with green walls and kept the sales room light: this zoning shows at once where you choose and where you pay.
The sales counter is L-shaped: a white solid carcass down to the floor and a pale wood-look top projecting over it. The front panels have a framed layout, and the inner frame of each panel is picked out with a green line in the wall colour. A Provence-style shop counter like this looks like a piece of furniture rather than a retail module; we describe the devices of the style in our guide to Provence style. We also made a white desk with a decorative pattern on the front for a beauty salon reception.
The solution suits flower, gift and small specialist shops where the furniture should stay a backdrop for the goods. More on our custom shop fittings page.
