Columbia — Sportswear Store

Clothing store fixtures for the Columbia shop: a wall system, island tables and rails, a cash desk and a bench for trying on shoes. The whole sales floor is built from three things — black metal, wood-effect board and the brand's blue.

Wall system and islands

The wall shelving units stand on black perforated uprights: wood-effect shelves, rails and accessory hooks all hang on the same slots. Apparel wall shelving with hang rails lets a jacket bay become a shoe wall without any new furniture. At the top the uprights turn into braces that carry a blue fascia with the logo, so wayfinding is built into the fixtures. In the middle of the floor stand a two-tier table on splayed legs, freestanding rails and a gondola of perforated section. Why interchangeable parts pay off for a shop is explained in our article on modular shopfitting.

Cash desk with a slatted front

The cash desk is the most visible piece on the floor. Its black end leans inwards, the wood-effect top sits like a thick beam, and the front is covered by a three-dimensional screen of blue wavy slats. A matching slatted wall with the logo stands behind the cashier, so the till can be seen from anywhere in the shop.

Bench for trying on shoes

By the shoe wall stands a bench: a black frame with slanted ends, a seat tightly wrapped in blue cord and a tilted mirror underneath. Customers see the shoe on their foot without getting up, and no separate floor mirror takes up the aisle. The slanted support is repeated in the table, the rails and the cash desk, so the floor reads as one set. Other clothing floors are the sports goods store and the loft-style clothing rails.

This solution suits single-brand clothing and footwear shops where the brand identity has to live in the fixtures themselves. More on the custom shop fittings page.
