For a womenswear shop we built a set of black metal fittings made up of three types of rack. An X-frame clothing store display rack stands in the middle of the floor, leaning two-tier racks sit by the windows and frames of different heights run along the wall.
Two rectangular frames cross in an X, the top ends are tied by lengthwise bars and the hanging rail is fixed just below them. Clothes hang in a single row and can be reached from both sides, so the rack is placed as an island that shoppers walk round. The legs splay wider than the top, which keeps this X-frame clothes display stand steady without castors or weights. End-on it reads as a graphic sign and acts as the accent of the room; we write about such focal points in our article on retail zone scenography.
By the windows stand racks with two rails one above the other, the whole plane tilted back. Because of the tilt the upper row does not hide the lower one: blouses and shirts above, trousers below, both fully visible. A two-tier garment rack like this gives two rows of hanging in the length of one and rests on two flat cross feet. A version with shelves above the rail is what we built for a store with black racks and light shelves.
Three frame modules stand tight together along the wall. In effect this is a wall shelving unit without the shelves. The centre module is the tallest and has two levels: trousers on clip hangers above, jackets below, so the outfit comes together at a glance. The side ones are lower, with a single rail for dresses and blouses. The bottom frame near the floor stands in for a shoe shelf. If a brand needs colour instead of black, see our boutique with gold-finish stands.
The set suits clothing stores that need a lot of hanging space in a small area and a neutral backdrop for the collection. Other projects are on our custom shop fittings page.
