An industrial wine rack on a black metal frame: three shelves in a dark wood tone and a glass holder under the top frame. The narrow unit stands right next to a tall table and keeps bottles, glasses and tableware in one place.
The frame is four uprights of black square profile with side rails. Each shelf sits flush inside a metal surround that forms a low lip, so the shelf edge is protected from chipping and bottles and jars cannot slide off. Adjustable feet at the bottom let you level the rack. Our guide to industrial style covers how dark metal and wood work together.
Rails of metal rod are fixed under the top frame: stemmed glasses hang upside down by the foot, so they dry and take up no shelf space. At a larger scale, see the loft-style shop fittings; the window bar counter is built on the same kind of frame.
The second rack in this project is tall, in two sections, with six tiers of shelves in the same metal surrounds. Horizontal side rails between the tiers stop boxes and bottles falling out sideways. A rack like this works for back stock or a storeroom.
A wine shelf with glass holder suits a shop, bar, cafe or an open-plan kitchen at home. We match the number of shelves, the width and the metal colour to the space. See custom shop fittings.
