Sliding-Door Wardrobe with Gloss Fronts

A two-door custom sliding door wardrobe: pale gloss doors in a wide frame with a dark wood look. It stands against the wall as a piece of furniture in its own right and stops short of the ceiling.

A frame like a portal

The sides, top and bottom in a dark wood look project forward, with the doors set back inside them. The dark outline pulls the wardrobe together into one volume: it reads as a piece of furniture rather than a wall with doors. That helps when a wardrobe is on show and cannot be built into a niche. A built-in version where the fronts do the opposite and blend into the wall is our wall-to-wall handleless wardrobe.

Gloss doors with no handles

The door panels are plain, flat and milky white. The gloss reflects the window and adds light to the room. There are no handles fixed on: a vertical finger recess is cut into the edge of the door, so nothing sticks out. The sliding system is hidden behind the frame, and the doors need no clearance to open. The same kind of doors with a different character can be seen in the light oak-look sliding wardrobe with a black frame. Choosing doors and interiors is covered in our article on custom sliding wardrobes.

It suits a bedroom or hall that needs a roomy wardrobe and where its look from the outside matters. More on the custom furniture for the home page.
